It seemed like a good idea at the time to paint all the white cabinets brown. Some white cabinets had originally came with the building so we decided that we would just use them for kitchen cupboards and then purchase any extra we needed and paint them all the same color so they would match. A helpful sales associate at ben-moore showed us the perfect kind of paint to use... a house mix called "black bean soup". With keen ambition, I started taking apart the cupboards. Excessivly using the drill to take out the screws just because it makes a neat sound. And thats where the fun ended... every single cupboard and door had to be washed and primed and painted. I cannot believe that two weeks later I am stillllll painting cupboards.. the term "black bean soup" will forever haunt my dreams. Anyway, the bro is up and is somehow installing them in about a tenth of the time it would take me. maybe this week i will see the end of them! will post a picture soon of the progres... believe it or not there has actually been some! flooring is ordered but will take about two weeks to get it. almost everything else is done in the main floor of the house ..like painting and walls and etc... just a bit of work in the basement and we will done the house! Photos to follow in a day or so.

interior serving and seating area BEFORE & AFTER painting
sorry for the poor quality on the pictures.. my
camera is going downhill
view when you enter the cafe. serving counter and looking back into the kitchen. not a very big place!
an attempt to show all three colors in the cafe.
the main red wall on the right will have the menu board on it as well as some sinks and probably blenders. the wooden frame in front is to be the serving counter. down the hallway in the middle is where the bathrooms are and then there will be seating in the area in the left part of the picture

Farewell (14th time in 10 years)
Goodbye my little country shack. I will dearly miss the wolf spiders hanging from my roof an the wood bug carcasses littered all over the floor and picked up by my barefeet. but I did love my garden. the landlady said that she would water so hopefully I will be able to see it next week when I am out!

Colors
Well...we got the official colors picked out today. Red as the feature wall and two tones of grey for the rest of the walls... The outside is going to be a surprise! ..its going to be out there! Rather interesting argument with the ``color consultant`` at the paint place as she tried to convince us that we needed to pick purple orange and green. I said to her ``ok, you know how black and orange reminds you of halloween and green and red reminds you of christmas..ok well those colors remind me of thanksgiving turkey dinner!`` really frustrated by people that want you have their ideas. why cant people just listen to you and then use their expertise to help you put together the ideas you have!

Well its official! Ive moved back to Alberta and here are two pictures of the building we are renovating for our coffee shop! hoping to open soon! worked three days on the building. I never imaged myself mopping a roof for two hours to try and get the plaster off of it after scraping those weird bumpy things off. Mom and I have spent most of the day taking loads of branches to the "organic waste recycling depot". I guess mom has been so used to doing work by herself, she forgot I was there as I found out by her accidently hitting me across the face with a large branch while unloading! Take that you deviant child! We had our first customer today too! a very confuddled old lady who walked up to the door..after I unlocked it, she barged in and stated that she had an appointment. I was like look lady there is nothing in here.. she was very sure that she had always came there for a hair cut and I dont think there has every been a hair dresser in the building! so I sent her a balloon and an alzeimers membership card. yup, a hard day of real work. Im ready for bed!

"A Master of Deception- Working Undercover for the RCMP"
If you are into police and detective work, you may want to take a read at this book. The author is Robert Knuckle. A very interesting book telling of an undercover detective for the RCMP. Managed to keep my attention for an extended period of time even though it reads like a bad grade 12 essay.
